For the appropriately named Craig Cheatham
An unscrupulous reporter recently awaited Sylvia Browne’s arrival into her St. Louis hotel, clearly violating her privacy in the hopes of some local recognition. After speaking with several St. Louis residents, it is my understanding that it is some sort of ratings week at various television stations in the area.
When Sylvia arrived at the hotel, Craig Cheatham and his camera man were waiting at the front door. It is unclear how he knew which hotel she would be checking into, as it is against policy to release guest information. But after witnessing the way he conducts business, it would not surprise me to find out he pays off various people around the city, a la paparazzi style.
Here is a link to his news report: http://www.kmov.com/video/topvideo-index.html?nvid=243576
And here is a link to his blog entry: http://www.beloblog.com/KMOV_Blogs/n4idailybriefing/
Craig asked Sylvia if he could interview her about her arrival into St. Louis and her lecture there. Did she agree? A contradictory statement in Craig’s blog states “Unfortunately, as you know, Ms. Browne and her staff never cooperated with us and Ms. Browne granted us only a very brief interview as she arrived at her St. Louis hotel.”
So which is it? Did she “NEVER” cooperate with them or did she “grant a very brief statement”? She actually agreed to the interview, after a long day of traveling, because he falsely portrayed the interview as welcoming. That is, of course, until the camera started recording. It was then he quickly brought up Shawn Hornbeck.
This blog is not intended to debate the Shawn Hornbeck case or Sylvia’s abilities. It also is not because the whole incident bothered Sylvia. Just in case the attention mongers who love the stroking they receive from Robert Lancaster (you know who you are) think that this has made any sort of impact, you are wrong. As of this moment, Sylvia does not even know that this newscast exists.
I am writing this blog simply because Craig Cheatham refuses to approve the blog comment I have repeatedly left for him. I also cannot stand one sided people and hypocrites.
So much for objective reporting. But it is his blog afterall and he can do what he wants, just as I do with mine.
I know he will read it as I left my name and URL in the blog comment he will not publish.
Craig:I hope you didn’t waste too much of KMOV’s money reporting on your “investigation” which you quite apparently ripped off from Anderson Cooper and Robert Lancaster. It’s interesting to me how the only new information you provided was obtained in unethical ways; recording unknowing people with a hidden camera even though recording devices are prohibited at the venue and ambushing Sylvia at her hotel. You state that Sylvia was uncooperative, however, she did agree to talk to you. The reason she stopped talking to you was because you quickly changed your line of questioning. You led her to believe you were welcoming her arrival into St. Louis. Instead of looking for faults in others, perhaps you should take a good look at the way you conduct your own business. Your unoriginal thought, lack of respect for protocol, and total disregard for the privacy of others is exactly the reason why most of America will probably never see your work.
